This is the personal photography portfolio of Dominik. It exists to show photographs — not to collect data about you. This page explains the limited information the site handles and why. The site is operated from the United States.

01Information collected automatically

Like virtually every website, the server keeps standard request logs. When you visit a page, the server may record your IP address, browser type (user-agent), the page requested, and the date and time. This is used to keep the site running, secure, and free of abuse.

The site also sends anonymous-by-design diagnostic telemetry (traces about how requests perform) to a third-party observability provider so problems can be spotted and fixed. That telemetry can include your IP address, the request path, and — if you use the search box — the words you searched for. It is used only to operate and debug the site, never to profile you or for advertising.

Finally, the site keeps a simple running tally of how many times each photo and album has been viewed, so the photographer can see which work resonates. These are aggregate totals only — a number attached to each photo and album, never to you, and used to build no profile. When you open a photo or album your browser sends a small, anonymous "this was viewed" signal; to avoid counting the same view twice, the server briefly holds a one-way-hashed form of your IP address for about thirty minutes and then discards it. This counting sets no cookies and honors your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.

02Information you provide

Public visitors don't need an account and aren't asked for any personal details. The only text you can submit is a search query, which is used to return matching photographs and is captured in the diagnostic telemetry described above. If you choose to email the address listed on the site, that message is handled like any normal email.

03Cookies and local storage

Simply browsing the public gallery sets no cookies at all. The site uses a single first-party cookie, named _photofolio_session, and sets it only when it is actually needed — when you submit a form protected against cross-site request forgery or sign in to the private studio area. It is strictly necessary, carries no tracking identifier, is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and is sent only to this site.

There are no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies, and no embedded social or marketing trackers. Because the only cookie is essential to the site working, no cookie-consent banner is required.

Aside from that cookie, the site may store a small, non-identifying marker in your browser's per-tab session storage — a note of which photos or albums it has already counted as viewed (see above), so a reload doesn't inflate the tally. It holds no identifier, is readable only by this site, and is erased the moment you close the tab.

04Photo location data

Photographs can carry GPS coordinates in their metadata. The precise coordinates are never published and are stripped from every image the site serves. A general place name (for example, a city or region) is shown only on photos where the photographer has explicitly chosen to reveal it.

05How information is shared

Personal information is not sold, rented, or traded. The only sharing that happens is with the service providers that make the site run — for example, the hosting provider and the observability provider noted above — and each handles data only to provide that service. Information may also be disclosed if required by law.

06Data retention

Server logs and diagnostic telemetry are kept only for a limited period needed to operate and secure the site, and are then discarded or aged out automatically.

07Your choices and rights

Because the site collects so little, there's not much to manage — but you can contact the operator (below) to ask what, if anything, is held about you, or to request its deletion. The site honors browser "Do Not Track" signals to the extent practical and runs no behavioral tracking regardless. California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct marketing; the site makes no such disclosures.

08Children

The site is a general-audience photography portfolio. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

09External links

The site may link to external profiles or pages (such as social media). Those destinations have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

10Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

11Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent by direct message on Instagram, or through the contact options on the about page.
